Laura Russell

I was born and raised in New Jersey but my heart was won over by the state of Maine. I’ve lived here for nearly 25 years. As a wife and mother, my interest in cooking came out of necessity but developed into a full blown passion for everything food. I think living on the coast of Maine and its bountiful local seafood and farms helped to peak my interest in food preparation and its endless possibilities. I’m always curious to hear what friends had for dinner at home or at the latest restaurant, and often try to duplicate the recipe. The Portland area is one of the hottest restaurant scenes in the country for up and coming chefs and restaurant and product reviews keep me interested in all the food happenings. I am currently wrapping up my degree in culinary arts and am looking forward to my externship to hone my skills.
